Fountain Hills Juried Art Exhibition Call for Entry and Application Forms
 FH Community Center January 5-31, 2023


Eligibility: Open to all resident artists in the greater Fountain Hills area, including the Verdes, Goldfield Ranch,  Fort McDowell, Mesa, Scottsdale,  Gilbert 
and members of the FH Art League.

Categories: Photography and digital imaging
Painting Categories: oil, acrylics, watercolor, mixed (more than one medium)
Drawings: charcoal, pencil, ink, pastel
Other: Sculpture, ceramics, fiber art, beaded art, jewelry, wood, other

Awards: Best of Show $100; First, Second and Honorable Mention ribbons for category awards plus monetary awards depending on number of entries.

Judge: Marz Doerflinger Marz received a BFA in painting and animation from Washington State University in 1983. She has enjoyed careers in television set design, graphic design and internet multimedia. Ms. Doerflinger has won honors in multiple international exhibitions and has been featured in American Art Collector, Southwest Art, and Plein Air magazines. She is a recipient of the Bold Brush Award and a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the Arizona Pastel Artists Association.

Judge: Suzie Black Suzie received her formal training with advanced degrees in both art therapy and art education at the George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art. Born In New Jersey she now lives in Scottsdale Arizona. Recent activity Sonoran Art League, juried Artist Member, 2014 - present. Vortex Magazine COVER Artist 2019. Gallery Representation: The Finer Arts Gallery, Cave Creek, Arizona. Teaches workshops at Scottsdale Artists School.

Criteria for judging:
1. Originality
2. Strength & quality of design and composition - based on principles and elements of design.
3. Mastery of chosen medium .. skill demonstrated
4. Clarity of the message .. visual impact .. emotional impact
5. Quality of presentation
6. Photos will be judged on the same criteria, rather than technical aspects.

 Criteria: Artwork must be original; no reproductions. Photos used in preparing the work must be your own. Artwork must be recent (within the last 3 years) not shown at this venue before Appropriate for this public venue. (ie - non-political, nudity) We reserve the right of acceptance. Flat art must be gallery wrapped or framed. Photography according to the wiring note below. Wiring: Flat Art must have a hanging wire nearly the full width of the work and securely attached to the artwork frame on the vertical side pieces of the frame approximately 1/3 from the top of the artwork. Coated picture wire is best. If the artwork is heavy, use D-rings to secure the wire to the artwork frame (eye hooks are OK only for small, lightweight pieces). Be sure the wire on the back of the artwork is tight enough to hide the wire when the artwork is hung. If you have a rectangular metal mounting frame on the back (like many metal prints), the rectangular frame will serve as the attached wire since it stretches across the back of the entire piece. 3.  Click the buttons below to print labels for your art and Community Center Hold
Harmless form and bring them  with you on January 5, 2023 along with your entries.

Deliver work: January 5th, 2023 between 12:30-2:00 pm to the Fountain Hills Community Center.

Pick up art: by January 31st, and sign out at the front desk between 8-8 Monday-Thursday. Friday 8-4.

Reception: Awards will be presented at the reception, on January 18th, 2023 from 4- 6:30 PM Hosted by Fountain Hills Art League www.fountainhillsartleague.com
